Flatout World Touring Car Series

PLEASE NOTE THE FIRST RACE IS ON SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST AND NOT SATURDAYS AS PER RESULTS FROM THE POLL

Okay fellas, as Mike said we will change the races slightly to try and make it more interesting.  It is still going to be on the same lines, but we will include the V8 Mod and DTM’s into the mix so the changes are going to be as follows:

Welcome to next Flatout Race Series.

Race Format:

Server settings - x2 Fuel, x2 Tyre wear, Dry weather.

Sessions starts - 19:00 UK time (20:00 CET time)

Practice session - 30 mins

Qualifying session - 15 mins SuperPole

Warmup session - 5 mins

Race One Sprint race - 20 mins (Standing Start)

Race Two feature race - 40 mins, one mandatory pit-stop, must change all four tyres, fuel is optional (Rolling Start, Reverse grid)

Points System:

Sprint and Feature races score seperate points which will be added up after each round.
A maximum of 20 points are available for each round.

1st - 10 points
2nd - 8 points
3rd - 6 points
4th - 4 points
5th - 3 points
6th - 2 points
7th - 1 point

The cars will be the WTCC 87 / WTCC 06/07 / V8 Mod / DTM Mod

The races with the WTCC 87 and WTCC 06/07 WILL STILL BE THE SAME, AS IN YOU CHOOSE ONE CAR FROM EACH SERIES PER RACE.

The dates of these races are likely to change so that we can use the odd week for testing for the new STC Season.

Just wondering your thoughts about having custom skins for this series, might be an idea if we all pick 1 WTCC 87 & 1 WTCC 06/07 and stick with them 2 cars thoughout the season so its not to much skinning involed!

Nice idea Bryan, but only problem is the WTCC 06/07 cars are so different in their charactaristcs, it might take the whole series to work out which car is best.

Whole season in WTCCs. I can imagine arguments for this, but honestly I think it wont keep my arse behind the wheel in the weekends as last series did. For me there's just too much fun driving radicals or f3k or other fast cars, even if its only on public servers.

I agree with you in a way there Rookie, personally i prefere driving faster cars and always tend to get bored quite quickly driving the slower ones, but if the races are anything like we had at barcelona then the series is shaping up very nicely indeed with paint to paint action, surely that will get anyone behind the wheel

Thanks Bryan as that was exactly our thoughts as well.  We wanted to try a series where the racing will be very close throughout the whole field and the these cars at Barcelona were the closest so far.

I also would love a series in the Radicals or F3000's but the speed difference between front to back can be upto 8 seconds. 

Also, as a club we haven't used the WTCC 06/07 cars yet, so a short series is a nice way to get to know which one is best.

yeah, i agree with Ian and Bryan, the Barcelona race was one of the best we had with the whole field very close, so if we could have a whole season like that, sounds good to me

yep feel 100% the same, the slower the car the slower i get .
But close racing it does give. And there are RWD cars so no to bad .

My health is not so good. I have Post Polio Syndrome. " look it up if you are interested " This means I have limited energy and I'm best in the daytime. I now find my heart is giving up and I need a heart valve replacement, so I'm on the waiting list you can't win

Offcourse Sel, no problem what so ever. There is no qual for the second race, we use reverced grid from the 1st.
If i don't forget i will put a text in shoutout box that the first race is finished.
