Hi guys, just installed the megaupload package with the GP79 2.01 mod and tracks but I got a GP79.RFM mismatch when I joined the server.

I installed the mod/tracks into a fresh Rfactor Lite install

Any ideas?

YOu should have 3 files, the GP79 cars install, the GP79 tracks install and the 2.01 patch. The only one that can cause issues is the patch. It does run a batch file after the extraction that modifies a few files so it is imperative that you extract it to the right place. I'm at work so can't remember what that right place might be.

All that is probably useless information, but I have typed it now. :)

Guys, stumbled upon this info page regarding the GP79 cars that might help some guys:

http://legends-league.com/wiki/LegendsDrivingHints

I'm sure some of the faster guys here will question some of the advice here, but it's a good start if you are struggling.

Hope it helps.

Grahem, how do you install the mod mate? do you point it at the root folder when unraring? best thing to do is unrar to desktop then drag each folder over to your rFactor root folder. Any other way seems to cause issues for me.

Intersting find there Bevan, has anybody tried the auto blip option etc? I'm wondering if it's worth it as i have now got a habit of coming off the gas to make the gear change. I was doing it in the V8's last night until i realsied you don't have to lol2

Think graham refering to is the Version i made without the installers with just the files in it which you have to extract and place in the right place. The Batch file in the original installer for 2.01 patch is for hockenheim track so it should not affect anything else.

That one you should just download and extract it and place it in the rFactor folder.

Graham, does it work offline ?

Tom, I agree the patch has a lot of Hockenheim in it , but I am sure I saw some vehicle files being copied. I may have been wrong though.

yep always best to unrar it somewhere else and then move the folders into place. I always do it like that.

Used the auto blip etc options from day 1 so can't tell you the difference either :) .

Had no idea you could adjust the mirrors, what i have done is set the option in the plr file so the mirror is always correct.

Have done al the rest i think. But def very very good info bevan.
Also Knew the ferrari F3 was crap, i thought i was driving the same ferrari as in the first race but then Henk pointed me to the fact it wasn't. Then i looked at it from an external cam it was totaly different. falldownlaugh

Yep you are right the patch does copie some vehicles but the batch files it excecutes only handles the hockenheim track.

This is the bat file :

[anchor= ]cd gamedata
cd locations
cd gpc79tracks
cd 10_hockenheim
IF NOT EXIST hockenheim GOTO NEW
cd hockenheim
del /q *.*
cd ..
rd hockenheim
:NEW
del /q *.gmt
del /q *.mas
ren hockenheim79.new hockenheim79.mas
ren hockenheim79map.new hockenheim79map.mas[/anchor]

Regarding the auto-lift option, That document and Dice confirms there is a weight penalty in the GP79 with it on, but I think unless you are perfectly happy with the car and are looking for all those extra tenths, then set it to auto lift=1. It's one less thing to think about :)

One or two days away from the forum, so much goes on.
I am having trouble with this mod and I got some great help from Andy Roberts and Henk. With this help, I went from 1.42 to 1.36 and there is more to come.

I read with interest about the Legend Driving Hints document from Bevan and reckon there is some really interesting info in there. Going to have a blast on the track to see how I do with this help.

These cars/this mod is a bit of a twat and like I said, I would prefer F1 1991 or another one I have just installed is the 1985 one.
However, we have GP79 mod and need to make the most of it. Lets see if this info can help.
