Silverstone 79 is very nice, I agree that would be a good choice to get in the groove with these beasts

lol, I found Silverstone too boring, which is why I added Monaco as the last race.  :sorry:

Well It's high speed all the way but these are never boring. :driving:
Highly technical tracks cause a lot of dropouts in the first laps, even more so with lots of Armco in the way LOL

Yea, 1979 F1 cars are not the easiest cars in the world to drive lmao! Lets start with a nice easy track, maybe we can just add another race to the calender, these cars are worth it anyway, great fun

Also some cars are more equal than others so perhaps we could look at that as well.
But I do love the idea of running the Hysterical ones.

Yes, I have been trying a few out. Dislike the gear changes immensly and yes, I reckon there will be only two or three different cars on the track.  I have already chosen mine, so hope too many others are not using it as it would be nice to get a good spread of vehicles/teams/colours

I have read somewhere you can change the timing of the gear changes in the upgrades if i am not mistaken.

Yes, Tom you are right, but thats for manual change, ie gearstick etc.
I have noticed that the server is set to allow auto changes which I used for a few laps.  Certainly makes it easier but I wont use them

Have you put a "1" in your plr file for auto blip & auto lift Ken?
It does incur a weight penalty but drives so more relaxed

Also for those racing the other tracks, the Dijon track is missing a file smokesand.tga ( at least in my install.
Copy this from another 79 track & paste into the Dijon folders.

If it's historical we're driving, it might be a good idea to choose a car & stick with it.
For instance Williams is fastest but only with the ltr model.
Others are more consistent so might be a beter choice esp if the tracks are early season one's  :smash:

We cant choose a car and stick with it now!!  as no one else knows which cars are best or anything yet until we try them!!  FFS, we go to efforts to choose cars / tracks for everyone for a series, and all we get back is negatives.

Sorry for being negative....... having a bad day!!

I personally have done testing offline and driven all of them, and have chosen the one I personally want to drive.  Hatch was suggesting I stick with it. This is POSITIVE!!!

Sorry Tom and Iain, but yes you guys work damn hard but we are NOT criticising and displaying negativity; just talking positive!  PEACE :peace:
